D1 athlete Tim Tebow is releasing his own book, Through My Eyes, today. It is an inspirational memoir about life as he chose to live it, revealing how his faith and family values, combined with his relentless will to succeed, and how it has molded him into the person that he is today. D1 Knoxville Team Wins Louisville Cup
Congrats to D1 Knoxville's SCOR Mavericks as they won the Louisville Cup. The Mavericks played four games with only 13 players to win the U17 age group. The Mavericks play out of the Soccer Club of Oak Ridge and train with Amy Coleman at D1 Knoxville. The 18 players on the squad represent 11 different high schools in East TN.

STACK Blog Features Herschel Walker
You’re never too old to learn something new, as Herschel Walker proved during his workout at D1-Savannah this past Saturday, May 14. In fact, Walker’s passion for learning has been a defining quality of his athletic career.
The former Heisman Trophy winner was an All-American sprinter at the University of Georgia, a member of the U.S. bobsled team at the 1992 Winter Olympics and a black belt in Taekwondo—all before he retired from the NFL in 1997.

It was the first week of January 2010, and Tebow, the most decorated college football player in recent history, was searching for a training facility to prepare for the NFL Combine.

Herschel Walker Works Hard at D1 Savannah

“Oh gee, don’t say 50. I feel like I’m in my 20s,” said Walker, chronologically less than 10 months away from his 50th birthday but looking the part of a finely tuned athlete during a 45-minute workout Saturday morning at the D1 Savannah fitness facility.

D1 Savannah Prepares for Tim Tebow
It’s Tebow time in Savannah.
Denver Broncos quarterback and Florida Gators legend Tim Tebow, who last month joined Georgia Bulldogs legend Herschel Walker as a co-owner of D1 Sports Savannah, will visit the training facility today.
Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner, will visit at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, is scheduled to work out from 2:30-3:15 p.m. today with D1 Sports Director of Training Kurt Hester. Tebow will help instruct D1 classes from 4-6 p.m.
Both training experiences with Tebow and Walker are only open to D1 Sports Savannah members.

D1 Co-Owner Heather Mitts Named to World Cup Team
D1 Cincinnati co-owner Heather Mitts was named to the U.S. World Cup team on Monday . Mitts, a two-time gold medalist who plays for the Atlanta Beat of Women’s Professional Soccer, has waited eight years for this opportunity. She was in line for a selection in 2003, but broke her leg three months before the tournament. In 2007, four months before the tournament, she tore the ACL in her left knee, then battled back to play on the gold-medal winning U.S. team a year later in Beijing. The Women’s World Cup is June 26-July 17 in Germany. The U.S. team plays its first match June 28 in Dresden. CLICK HERE for more.

Eric Berry Announces D1 Camps in Knoxville
Former Tennessee Vol and current Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry has announced he will be holding an Elite Defensive Skills Clinic and an Iron Sharpens Iron camp in conjunction with D1 Knoxville and benefitting the Eric Berry Foundation.
The inaugural Elite Defensive Skills Clinic is for football athletes ages 15+ and will be held on Friday, June 24 at D1 Knoxville. The sessions are from 8:00-11:30 AM and 1:00-4:30 PM.
Iron Sharpens Iron Camp is for student-athletes ages 7-14. This is fundamental camp will be held at Grace Christian Academy on Saturday, June 25 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Drop Off Donations for Alabama Tornado Victims
In conjunction with Toomers for Tuscaloosa and The DeMeco Ryans Foundation, D1 Nashville, Huntsville, Little Rock and Birmingham will be taking donations for the Alabama tornado victims. Please drop off items at any of the four D1 locations on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (5/2-5/4) and the items will be dropped directly to affected families.
Items at the top of the list include: baby items (Pedialyte, food, formula, diapers and wipes), batteries, toys, personal hygiene items, non-perishable food, broken-down boxes, packing tape, canned pet food, animal food bowls, bottled water, box fans, flashlights and First Aid supplies such as Advil and Benadryl.
