D1 Knoxville Athlete Recovering from Car Wreck

On August 10th, Zach Dowdy, senior quarterback at Halls High School, flipped his SUV on his way to football practice resulting in emergency surgery to remove his spleen. His return to football seemed unlikely, according to Coach Kevin Julian. However, after training at D1 Knoxville with Coach Dunstan Kendrick, he recently practiced in shoulder pads and helmet but was held from contact. The Red Devils are 0-3 with the next four games on the road. A comeback by Dowdy during that stretch would be a welcomed one. "He's bound and determined to do it (return)," said Julian. "It could be the lift we need." Click here to read the full story.
