D1 Greenville co-owner Chester McGlockton died early Wednesday morning in California. He was 42. In January of 2007, Chester joined James Trapp, Ed McDaniel, Ingle Martin and Dexter Davis as co-owners of D1 Greenville. Chester was a great partner to D1 and will be sorely missed.
A native of Whiteville, N.C., Chester starred at Clemson before being selected 16th overall by the Los Angeles Raiders in 1992. He played 12 seasons in the NFL with the Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, New York Jets. He made all four of his Pro Bowl appearances while with the Raiders from 1994-1997. Chester was currently serving as an assistant football coach at Stanford University.
