Tim Tebow Meets 4-year-old Boy with Leukemia at D1

Every time Preston Winslow plays football with his dad, the 4-year-old pretends to be Tim Tebow.

The Denver Broncos quarterback is his favorite player. Just mention Tebow's name and his face lights up.

His parents revel in those grins. There may not be many left.

Preston has acute myeloid leukemia, or AML. Diagnosed in 2010, he stopped responding to treatment last month, his parents said.

On Saturday, for a few hours at least, Tebow helped them forget.

In town to host a training event for members of D1, a sports facility he co-owns in north Tampa, Tebow spent some time on an indoor field with Preston.

Tim Tebow will be at D1 Tampa on Saturday

His name ignites uncommon passion, both good and bad, while a mere mention of his appearance prompts people to pause and look around.
"He's going to be here?" asked Ashley Walls, a server at the Press Box, a South Tampa sports bar. "Where?"

Tim Tebow — Heisman Trophy winner, national champion, NFL comeback quarterback, Jockey spokesman, prolife promoter, America's most desired celebrity neighbor and rumored Katy Perry and Taylor Swift crush — will be in Tampa on Saturday. His appearance will be limited to about 250 members of the D1 Sports Training and Therapy center in Citrus Park, a training fitness center he co-owns.

"He brings character to the building, to the team," added Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Derrick Brooks, also a co-owner of the training center.
