Former Tennessee Volunteer, Wayne Chism, training at D1 Nashville

Wayne, a recent graduate from UT who played forward/center for the Vols basketball team, came to D1 to work with strength and speed coach James Wilson. He is training for the upcoming NBA Draft on June 24. Good luck Wayne!

Members of the CFL's Calgary Stampede football team training at D1 Chattanooga

Taurean Allen officially became a Calgary Stampeder on Monday after signing his first pro contract, is in Chattanooga, Tenn., working out at D1 Sports Training with a number of other current or aspiring Stampeders — including Fernand Kashama, Derek Watson and fellow 2010 draft pick Karl McCartney (who’s believed to be on the verge of signing his own contract). D1 Chattanooga member places in fishing tourney

10-year-old John Roberts, D1 Chattanooga member, shows off a 5.24 lb. largemouth bass. This was his very first tournament that he fished with his dad, Byron Roberts. They were our highest finishing youth division team and also had big fish of the tournament which won them $570. Nice catch John!

D1 Knoxville's Scott Stallings performs well on Nationwide Tour

D1 Knoxville member and former Oak Ridge High standout Scott Stallings had nine birdies and a bogey to shoot 63 and tie for seventh, four shots behind the leader at this weekend’s Nationwide Tour BMW Charity Pro-Am in Greenville, S.C. Scott is currently ranked 47th in Money Leaders on the Nationwide Tour and is currently ranked #1 in Driving Distance with an average of 315.4 yards.

D1 Knoxville and TOC volunteered at Grace Christian Academy

D1 Knoxville’s Bruce Nicoara and Adam Kerley along with staff from TOC (Tennessee Orthopedic Clinics) volunteered their time and skills to perform physicals for the athletes at Grace Christian Academy. The staff performed upper and lower quarter screenings and examinations that included blood pressure & pulse measurements, eyesight screenings, scoliosis checks, and physician clearance. Good luck to all of the GCA athletes that will be competing next year!

D1 Knoxville attends Healthy & Green Vendor Day at the Scripps Networks Headquarters

D1 Knoxville’s Bruce Nicoara & Adam Chambers were invited to set up a table and promote D1 at the Healthy & Green Vendor Day at the Scripps Networks Headquarters on Wednesday, May 12th. We were able to come and talk about our new location, hand out information on our training and boot camps and explain the benefits of a healthy lifestyle revolving around exercise and diet. Scripps is the producer for channels such as HGTV, The Food Network, and the Travel Channel.

D1 Cincinnati hosts EAE Combine

The EAE combine was held at D1 Cincinnati on May 8th from 10am-3pm, and 35 athletes attended. The day was full of demonstration, testing, and competition. The athletes performed a variety of skills and agility drills including the 225 bench press, pro-agility, L-drill, 40-yd dash, vertical jump and standing broad jump.

D1 Knoxville attends Fighting Irish-Warriors Spring Classic at Smokies Park

D1 Knoxville sponsored and set up at the Fighting Irish-Warriors Spring Classic at Smokies Park last weekend, May 1st, which attracted over 2,000 spectators. This event was a high school baseball doubleheader featuring Grace Christian Academy vs. Christian Academy of Knoxville in the first game and Gibbs High vs. Knoxville Catholic in the nightcap. The event benefited the wide range of child and family services provided throughout our community by Catholic Charities of East Tennessee. All services provided by Catholic Charities are provided without regard to religious affiliation or ability to pay.

D1 Cincinnati hosts Combine Prep

D1 Cincinnati hosted a combine prep for 14-18 year olds this past Saturday in preparation for the EAE combine this coming Saturday. At the combine, participants were taught proper technique and form for: Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, 20 yard dash, 5-10-5 pro agility, L Drill, and 225 bench rap max. Good luck to all the participants who are participating in the upcoming combine!

D1 Cincinnati's Gage Deitsch, Nathan Henke and Aiden Jones compete in local soccer tournament

The Optimist Club of Fairfield and the Fairfield Optimist Soccer Club welcomed clubs to the 25th Mid-American Soccer Classic held at the Optimist Soccer Complex in Fairfield, Ohio from April 16-18, 2010. The MASC is considered one of the best run tournaments in the mid-west. Competitive youth soccer teams ages U8-U19 were invited to participate. Each team was guaranteed 3 matches. The divisions were tiered to pool teams of like competition where possible.

Gage Deitsch, Nathan Henke and Aiden Jones from D1 Cincinnati play for the FOSC Heat and participated in the U9 Silver bracket. They were undefeated throughout the weekend and won their division with a 6-4 win in the final and +9 goal differential overall. They are currently second place in their club season with a 2-1-1 record. Great job guys and keep up the hard work!

Two years ago, Caleb Campbell trained at D1 for the NFL Combine and subsequent Draft. After getting drafted by the Detroit Lions, he had to put his NFL career on hold to serve in the Army. Now he is back. CLICK HERE to read a story about his return.
