Savannah Morning News Features D1 Training Tips


Check out soccer explosion tips from Savannah facility coordinator, Robert Creel in the Savannah Morning News: "Lindsey Vasher plays soccer for Richmond Hill High School and the Coastal Georgia Soccer Association. She is going to show you one of the ways we train for that explosion — the Depth Jump Sprint. To do a Depth Jump Sprint, you’ll need a box between 6 inches and 18 inches high. Place the box on the ground and climb on top."

D1's Scott Stallings Finishes 3rd at PGA Tournament

Congrats to D1 Knoxville athlete Scott Stallings for finishing third at the PGA's Transitions Championship in Tampa this weekend. Scott finished two strokes behind the leader and had an awesome hole-in-one in Round 3 of the tournament. Looks like all his hard work at D1 is paying off! Well deserved finish! This Saturday March 19, D1 Birmingham is hosting its Beach Body Boot Camp Experience event. The event is for adults 18+ and is totally free. Attending this event will help you kick-start beach season by burning calories, feeling great, and helping to get you fit. D1 Chattanooga Trainer Featured in Ebony Magazine

Donna L, a Chattanooga radio personality, who trained at D1 Chattanooga, overcame her self proclaimed "cookie addiction", and lost nearly 90 pounds. She is now a trainer at D1 Chattanooga and leads her own class called Donna's D.I.V.A.s, a program for women to come together through physical fitness. D1 Cincinnati Becoming a Popular Location for NFL Pre-Draft and Offseason Workouts


D1 Cincinnati is making a name for itself in training top athletes. TE Daniel Hardy from the University of Idaho represented D1 at the NFL Combine and now prepares for his Pro Day. FB Kevin Gidrey from USF, LB Melvin Patterson from ECU and CB Julian Posey from Ohio University are training hard for their Pro Days as well. Also, Washington Redskins DE Jeremy Jarmon, Cincinnati Bengals FB Fui Vakapuna and OL Otis Hudson are getting right during the offseason.

Bulluck and Vanden Bosch Reunite at D1


Keith Bulluck and Kyle Vanden Bosch were teammates on the Tennessee Titans from 2005-2009, but this past season they went their separate ways. Bulluck is now a free agent after spending last year with the New York Giants, and Vanden Bosch is entering his second season with the Detroit Lions. Although they aren't on the same defensive anymore, the duo are again working out together at D1 Nashville. NFL Players Working Out at D1 While Labor Talks Continue


For the past few weeks several current NFL players have been spending their mornings and afternoons at D1 training for the upcoming NFL season, even with the uncertainties surrounding a new CBA agreement and a potential lockout. Last Friday the Tennessean was at D1 Nashville and spoke with some of these players including Kyle Vanden Bosch, Keith Bulluck, Jared Cook, and Donnie Nickey. Eryk Anders Making Last Effort for NFL Spot at D1

Former University of Alabama linebacker Eryk Anders is making one last push for his NFL dreams. Anders, who made his name known after his late sack and forced fumble in the 2009 National Championship game, currently plays for the Colorado Ice of the Indoor Football League, and has been training at D1 Birmingham. Anders has also been training kids at D1. He is hoping to work out at Alabama's Pro Day on Wednesday for NFL scouts and to earn a roster spot for the upcoming season. DJ Williams Preparing for Draft at D1 Little Rock

Division III All-American Preping for NFL at D1 Columbus


Eddie Vallery, a two time Division III All-American defensive end at Wittenberg University, is doing all he can to make his NFL dreams come true. He was recently asked to participate in Ohio State's pro day after his time training at D1 Columbus. He was originally slated to perform at Akron's pro day, but thanks to D1's Ohio State connections Vallery will work out for NFL scouts with Ohio State's potential draftees on March 11. D1 Greenville Rookie Wins Pro Kart Race


John "JW" Warren, who trains as a Rookie at D1 Greenville, won two out of his three races this weekend on the Pro Kart Tour in Huntsville, AL. He won the Pro Race, where he raced against and beat 23 of the best drivers in the country in his age group. This is the biggest win of JW's young racing career and even in his big moment he thought of D1, "I would like to thank GOD, all the people at Southside Christian School who help me, High Tech Racing, Brett Miller, and the guys at D1 Sports in Greenville for making me stronger." Great wins JW! Keep up the hard work!

D1 Corporate Wellness Partner Begins Biggest Loser Competition


The Averitt D1 Corporate Wellness facility in Cookville, TN has teamed up with the Averitt Express on-site clinic, which is run by Marathon Health, for a 12 week Biggest Loser competition. To participate in this program, competitors had to meet a certain BMI (Body Mass Index) criteria. During the program the Averitt clinic takes care of all the nutrition and biometrics needs, while the wellness center takes care of the physical side of the game. The program just finished its fourth week, and the 38 competitors have lost a total of 263 lbs. Way to go group, keep it up!
