High school senior student athletes who perform on the field, in the classroom, as well as contributing to their school, community and society have been reciepients of the award. D1 Greenville Training for a Purpose

The athletes of D1 Greenville had some extra incentive to get better this past Sunday.  In partnership with a local high school, D1 Greenville hosted its first ever TRAINING FOR A PURPOSE event to benefit the Project HOPE Foundation. Project Hope is an upstate South Carolina charity that leads the way in serving children with autism in the state. They are the only organization in the upstate that provides nonprofit treatment for children with autism. D1 Greenville ran two adult boot camp classes on Sunday to benefit the organization; it was a great workout for an even better cause!

BG Daily News Features New D1 Facility

Injured athletes and hard-core fitness buffs have a new venue to help them get into shape. D1 Sports opened last week adjacent to its local partner, WKONA, on Lovers Lane. The indoor training facility features a field with new turf cushioned with crumb rubber. D1 also includes a full circuit of weight machines, free weights and an area for softball batting practice. On one of the first nights it was open, students ran sprints as part of an initial fitness test to give facility trainers a baseline.

D1 Cincy to Hold Women's Only Boot Camp Benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, D1 Cincinnati is offering a Women Only Boot Camp on Wed., Oct. 26 from 5:30-6:30 pm for women 18 and older, where all registrations and donations go directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This session will include high-energy cardio work with high repetition resistance training focusing on muscle tone and weight loss. This should be a great night of fitness supporting a great cause. CLICK HERE for more info.

D1 Nashville Hosting Dodgeball Tournament

The D1 Fight for Air Dodgeball Tournament benefitting the American Lung Association in Tennessee will be taking place Oct. 22 at D1 Nashville. Teams of 10 will battle in a double elimination tournament for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. Teams can pre-register online by CLICKING HERE. Registration will also take place the morning of the tournament beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the tournament kicking off at 11:00 a.m.

 Proceeds from the D1 Fight for Air Dodgeball Tournament will go to the American Lung Association in Tennessee to support their programs, advocacy and research. Over 700,000 people in Tennessee struggle to breathe every day! COPD is the #4 leading cause of death in the United States and Lung Cancer is the #1 cancer killer.

Melvin Goins and Kelley Cain Hosting D1 Basketball Camp

Basketball season is right around the corner and D1 Knoxville is ready to take your game to the next level. D1 Knoxville and MAX Basketball will be hosting skills camps for boys and girls featuring former UT Vols players Melvin Goins and Kelley Cain. These sessions will include fundamental drills in shooting, passing and ball handling.

D1 Trains for a Purpose with Race for the Cure



The D1 team is honored to once again be participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K taking place in cities all over the country. We invite everyone to join us in an effort to fight breast cancer throughout the world by taking steps to support this cause. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created.. Here are the remaining dates and locations D1 will be participating as D1 Cincinnati, D1 Savannah and D1 Greenville have already participated:

10/15 – Birmingham @ Linn Park
