Giller Trying to Work His Way onto NFL roster

Former Vanderbilt long-snapper David Giller is at D1 doing the Combine Training program, hoping to improve his chances of making an NFL roster. Giller will not attend the February combine in Indianapolis, but will attend a senior specialist combine in Arizona for punters, kickers, and long-snappers. University of Oregon defensive tackle Brandon Bair, Arkansas State defensive tackle Bryan Hall, and Texas A&M Quarterback Jerrod Johnson have all reported to D1 Nashville for Combine Training. This now brings the total to 15 athletes training for the upcoming NFL Combine.

Beacon Orthopaedics and Sport Medicine's Doctor's on Cincinnati Call-In Show


D1 Cincinnati medical partner, Beacon Orthopaedics and Sport Medicine, is partnering with Channel 5 WLWT in Cincinnati to host its bi-annual Call the Docs Show. The show will air live January 25 at 7:30 and will come on right before NBC's The Biggest Loser. Beacon's top doctors including Cincinnati Reds' team physician, Doc Kremchek, will answer calls, e-mails and blogged questions about sports injuries. D1 Combine Participant Invited to U.S. Army National Combine


In December 2010, Riverdale High School's Adam Davenport participated in a high school football combine at D1 Nashville. Recently he and teammate Marcelous Odom were invited to and participated in the U.S. Army National Combine, which was held January 6-8 in San Antonio, Texas. South Carolina State running back Will Ford has reported to D1 Greenville for Combine Training. While at South Carolina State Ford was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Year for the 2008-2009 season, as well as MEAC Rookie of the Year for the 2006-2007 season.

Craig Kimbrel Youth Baseball Camp at D1 Huntsville


Atlanta Braves closer, Craig Kimbrel, will be hosting a youth baseball camp at D1 Huntsville on January 29 from 9 am to noon. The camp will be for athletes age 9-18, and campers will be instructed by Craig, other MLB players, and coaches. D1 Knoxville Athlete Excels Both On and Off the Field

D1 Knoxville athlete Matthew Scott has been perfoming at a very high level both on the football field and in the classroom. Within the last year year Matthew has recieved the following honors for his work academically: 2009-2010 Loudon County Young Achiever Student of the Year, November 2010 North Middle School Student of the Month, and he has been on the Honor Roll for the year to date. On the football field Matthew was named to the 2010 ETMS AA AAA All-District and All-East teams. Congratulations Matthew on a job well done! Keep up the hard work!

Adams, Mixon, Durham and Boling Start D1 Combine Training

Purdue tight end Kyle Adams, Kent State linebacker Cobrani Mixon, Georgia wide receiver Kris Durham and Georgia offensive lineman Clint Boling have all reported to D1 for NFL Combine Training. All four athletes worked on the field this morning and lifted in the weight room this afternoon on their first day. Welcome guys!
