D1 Huntsville hosted tryouts for the Tennessee Valley Tigers, Huntsville’s female full tackle football team. The tryouts were held on Saturday, October 17. About twenty women attended the tryouts with most of them not knowing the rules of football. The reassurance vanished, however, after I arrived at the D1 training facility in Huntsville. Fast, athletic and strong, the women showcased their blocking, receiving and throwing abilities, without falling.
